Address: Windmill Street, Manchester, M2 3GX

How long does it run for?

Two full days:

Wednesday the 14th: from 8am to 6:15pm

And on day one, our exclusive black tie conference dinner runs from 7pm to 11pm.

What’s the dress code?

There’s no strict rule, but the vast majority of our attendees wear smart/business attire.

Are refreshments provided?

Complimentary breakfast and lunch are provided with every attendee ticket and delegate pass. And since this is the Northern Powerhouse Conference, we strive to include regional ingredients. For 2018, this will include:

Breakfast: Local back bacon in a freshly baked bread roll, or sautéed field mushrooms and potato rosti on a freshly baked bread roll (V) – along with a choice of ethically sourced coffee, organic tea and herbal infusions.

Morning break: A choice of ethically sourced coffee, organic tea and herbal infusions with a selection of homemade northern biscuits.

Lunch: Freshly made sandwich (choice of 4) with local ingredients, a piece of fresh fruit, Lancashire crisps, cereal bar and a bottle of still water – along with a choice of ethically sourced coffee, organic tea and herbal infusions.

Afternoon tea: A choice of ethically sourced coffee, organic tea and herbal infusions with a selection of homemade northern biscuits.

We aim to make sure that everyone is fuelled up for a busy day of networking.

Is there WiFi?

Yes. Free WiFi is included for all attendees, exhibitors and sponsors at the event.

If you’re exhibiting and need a dedicated connection for video or content streaming, this can be requested separately.

Is there disabled access?

Yes. The vast majority of the event is on the ground floor at street level, with unimpeded access via the main entrance. Foyer doors are activated by sensor. First floor levels can also be accessed via lifts. Alongside this, guide dogs are welcome, and induction loop functionality is included in the main auditorium. The on-site parking also includes disabled parking bays with a lift directly to the venue.

Please contact us if you have any questions about accessibility and we’ll be happy to help.

Why should I buy a two-day ticket?

The two-day ticket offers double the insights and networking opportunities for the northern powerhouse.

A one day ticket still gives you a wealth of exhibitions, keynotes and debates to enjoy, but with different speakers and attendees over both days, it’s well worth making the most of this annual event for just a little extra.

How do I buy a ticket?

You can download our booking form here, but the easiest way to purchase is via our online booking system, where you can buy in minutes via secure payment.

Alternatively, please call 0113 397 0335 to book, where credit/debit card payment can be made by phone. Need an invoice? Just let us know.

What happens when I’ve purchased my ticket?

Once you’ve booked, you’ll receive a VAT receipt by e-mail, where we can also send you an invoice if requested. Tickets are e-mailed to you 3 weeks before the event date.

What do I do when I arrive at the conference?

You will be required to show your e-mail ticket with the barcode at the main entrance reception. We’ll then print your official ticket and you can head straight in.

You can present the e-mail ticket as a print out, or show us the ticket on your smartphone or tablet. Whichever is easier.

What do I receive at the conference?

At reception, you’ll receive the official conference bag along with a conference programme and branded lanyard. The bag is perfect for carrying any freebies from the exhibits.

Can I receive a refund if I can’t attend?

Refunds can be provided up to 14 days before the event, so you can book with peace of mind.

Are there any public sector discounts?

We value the attendance of all public professionals who want to engage with those in the private sector to drive forward the northern economy. If you work in the public sector, you’ll receive £75 off your ticket of choice (excluding dinner). Please contact us to book.

Are there any student or young person discounts?

Yes. We value the input of young people who will one day become the leaders and innovators the northern powerhouse needs. If you’re under ##, you’ll receive 50% off all ticket types (excluding dinner). Please contact us to book.

Can I attend on my own?

Absolutely! Many attend by themselves, so you would be far from alone. With two full days of exhibits, conference sessions and networking opportunities, there’s plenty to see and talk about with like-minded people.

What networking opportunities will exist?

The Northern Powerhouse Conference is about bringing together directors, CEOs, public sector decision makers and other professionals from across the UK to drive forward the economy of the North. For that reason, when the conference is not in session, it’s all about networking.

There are four refreshment periods to chat over a bite to eat, a dedicated networking area, and two full days in our vast exhibition hall, where you can meet thousands of fellow attendees and dozens of exhibitors.

Bring lots of business cards. You’ll need them.

Do you have an exhibition floor plan?

What is the exhibition shell like?

A typical exhibition shell at the event looks like this, depending on the size you decide to go for.

Why should we buy a larger exhibition stand?

While all our stands are in high-visibility locations for optimum footfall, the larger stands attract greater attention and allow more flexibility over what you include in your stand.

For example, many of our bigger exhibitors include workshops and seating areas where representatives can chat with interested attendees.

The larger stands also include additional exhibition passes so you can bring more of your people to the event.

How do we book an exhibition stand?

Please call 0113 397 0335 to book your exhibition space, or if you have any questions.

Can we choose our exhibition stand location?

Yes. It’s first come, first served when choosing your stand location based on what is available.

We therefore recommend booking at the earliest opportunity, particularly as the number of exhibition stands is limited.

What happens when we’ve made the booking?

Once booked, we will e-mail a confirmation and provide access to the online exhibitor’s manual containing everything you need to know.

What about power supplies, lighting and furniture?

The official exhibition contractor, GES, provides all power and lighting. The exhibition manual will contain more details on how to arrange this. GES can also provide furniture, displays and other features if required, but you can also bring your own if you prefer.

How many people can we bring?

We include the following full-access tickets with each stand:

  • 6m2 stand – 2 tickets
  • 8m2 stand – 3 tickets
  • 12m2 stand – 4 tickets
  • 18m2 stand – 6 tickets
  • 24m2 stand – 8 tickets

Additional tickets can also be purchased by exhibitors at a discounted rate. Please contact us for more information.

Who can we bring?

You can bring staff or representatives, and also any guests you wish. The included tickets will give each person full, two-day access to the exhibition and conference, as well as complimentary breakfast, lunch and refreshments during the morning and afternoon tea breaks.

When should we arrive?

The exhibition build is carried out the day before the event on Monday the 12th of February 2018.

On the day of the event, exhibitors can arrive at 0730hrs so they are ready for the arrival of the attendees at 8am sharp.

What can we include in our exhibition stand?

The choice is yours! Some common features of past exhibition stands include:

  • Wall graphics
  • Pull-up stands
  • Tables with literature
  • Decorations
  • Display screens
  • Workshops
  • Seating areas
  • Interactive tablets/computers

Can we provide freebies or tasters?

Yes. We recommend it, as it’s a great way to draw more attention to your stand with something different. Common freebies include branded stationery and even tasters of regional food and drink.

How busy can we expect it to be?

With over 1,500 attendees each day made up of business owners, MDs, CEOs and public sector officials, there will be plenty of people to interact with throughout the two days.

Even during the keynotes in the auditorium, the exhibition area is always a hub of activity.

Will my brand be seen elsewhere?

Every exhibitor receives a named listing on the event page of the Northern Powerhouse Conference website.

Throughout the two days, our photographers will be snapping the entire event, and our videographers videoing the entire event, for exposure on our website gallery and social media platforms.

Plus, in 2017 over 75 journalists attended, so there’s always the opportunity for far-reaching press exposure.

Are there any other opportunities for increased exposure?

Our range of sponsorship packages include exhibition stand space along with e-mail, website, programme, badge, lanyard and conference advertising.

Is overnight security provided?

Full 24 hour security is in place during the conference operating hours and overnight.
